Nestlé MILO kicked off Environment Day 2022 |
The ceremony attracted representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Thanh Xuan District Department of Education and Training, and Nestlé Vietnam. The event was also held live on Zoom with the participation of school administrators, parents, and almost 500 kids from Khuong Ha's schools.
Environment Day 2022 seeks to spread environmental consciousness, raise awareness, and change behaviour among students and the general public, thereby helping reduce pollution and promote green living.
At the ceremony, Nestlé MILO also sponsored awards within a Say No to Single-Use Plastics contest. The contest aims to arouse students' creativity through environmental education, thereby gradually orienting green consumption habits in schools, building a sense of limiting single-use plastics, and encouraging the use of eco-friendly products. Since November, the organisers have received more than 3,000 applications from more than 500 schools nationwide.
Vu Minh Ly, deputy director of the Communication Centre said that, "Schools and students have responded positively to the creative contest, as seen by the numerous unique and inspiring entries on environmental conservation. We hope that students would take steps to protect their own living environment, such as saying no to single-use plastics, refusing to use environmentally damaging products, actively encouraging relatives not to use plastic, and decreasing plastic waste in the environment."
At the event, Nestlé MILO granted recycling bins made from milk cartons as well as the programme medals for teachers and students.
Le Thi Hoai Thuong, senior corporate affairs manager of Nestlé Vietnam said, “Nestlé MILO is committed to a long-term partnership with agencies and schools to develop environmental awareness among students. By participating in environmental activities, children will promote the roles and responsibilities of the country's future generations to contribute to creating dynamic and green playgrounds. We hope that the Environment Day 2022 will also spread widely at Khuong Ha School and at many other schools across the country.”
Nestlé MILO accompanies the MoNRE's Communication Centre to promote environmental protection activities. Recycling stations made from milk cartons will be installed at stadiums of this year’s SEA Games, encouraging athletes and fans to exchange plastic waste for gifts. When the SEA Games officially open on May 12, Nestlé MILO's welcome gate will display at the My Dinh National Stadium.
