The development of Vietnamese technology companies will be discussed at the National Forum on Developing Vietnam Technology Companies held on May 9 at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, with the participation of more than 1,000 guests including government representatives and leading technology enterprises.

The National Forum on Developing Vietnam Technology Companies has the theme “Aspiration, Vision, and Strategy for a Prosperous Vietnam” and the slogan “Make in Vietnam.”

In his keynote speech welcoming guests and opening the form, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung highlighted the role of technology companies in the country's development.

The four topics to be discussed include resolving issues for Vietnamese technology enterprises, Vietnamese technology enterprises' role in helping Vietnam overcome the middle-income trap, policies and solutions for developing Vietnamese technology enterprises, and connecting technology businesses.

Vietnamese technology enterprises play an important role in leading the national transition and the building of a digital economy and digital society.

This February, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also signed Decree No.13/2019/ND-CP on science and technology enterprises. Accordingly, technology enterprises will be given exemption and reductions in corporate income tax as well as land and water rental fees, in addition to credit incentives.

Moreover, technology enterprises will also receive support in scientific research to enable them to bring products into actual production.
