Medtronic Vietnam and University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City (UMC) signed their fourth MoU |
This latest agreement builds on a long-standing partnership between Medtronic, a global leader in healthcare technology, and UMC, Vietnam’s largest university medical centre. The MoU outlines 23 comprehensive training and education courses, encompassing key areas such as cardiovascular, neuroscience, and medical surgical specialities for healthcare professionals.
Through this partnership, UMC is reinforcing its pioneering vision to adopt and bring innovative therapies closer to the patients. This includes the first successful treatment of an epilepsy patient with deep brain stimulation, and training courses, both locally and internationally, to implement the leadless pacemaker therapy. Comprehensive continuing medical education programmes are also available to accelerate the learning curve for surgeons, enabling them to adopt advanced procedures efficiently and improve surgical outcomes on the latest minimally invasive surgery in spine, gastrointestinal and hernia surgeries.
Additionally, Medtronic is honoured to partner with UMC in qualifying the hospital as the second solo proctor for the transcatheter aortic valve implantation technique in Vietnam. Besides CME initiatives, Medtronic acts as a trusted partner with the hospital in improving stroke and aortic stenosis management via patient awareness initiatives. These advancements mark significant milestones in Vietnam’s healthcare landscape.
