| Hotel Indigo Saigon The City introduces Ca-Moon – the hotel’s debut mooncake collection inspired by the cherished Vietnamese stacked lunchbox, or 'ca-men' |
To many Vietnamese, the ca-men serves as a timeless companion, filled with warm rice, sour soup, or braised fish, and a reminder of the care poured into each meal. More than a mere food container, it carries memories and deep affection. The name Ca-Moon – a blend of 'ca-men' and 'moon' – is a heartfelt tribute to these sacred memories.
As the Mid-Autumn Festival brings loved ones home, the image of the lunchbox evokes a profound sense of reunion, where emotions are conveyed silently through each meal and layer of memory.
Ca-Moon is crafted in a four-tier cylindrical form that mirrors the traditional ca-men structure, representing simplicity and intentionality. Adorned in bold crimson and golden accents, the box radiates warmth and togetherness. Its gold-plated metal handle adds sophistication while honouring the iconic lunchbox silhouette.
The exterior features embossed symbols of Ho Chi Minh City: bicycles, motorbikes, Ben Thanh Market, Ba Son Bridge, and the Central Post Office, each capturing the essence of a vibrant city. Inside, vintage floral tile patterns grace the smaller boxes, reflecting the heart of old Saigon homes, where Mid-Autumn once meant lion dances, paper lanterns, mooncakes, and childhood wonder.
