Two hospitals from Hoan My Medical Group were recognised for their innovative patient-centric projects at the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) Quality Improvement Award on December 7.
The ACHSI Quality Improvement Awards evaluate and recognise outstanding and innovative quality improvement initiatives that have been implemented in healthcare organisations around the world. There are three categories of awards, two of which were picked up by Hoan My Medical Group.
The flagship Hoan My Sai Gon Hospital was recognised in the Clinical Excellence and Patient Safety category for its implementation of a comprehensive automation system, 'Good Laboratory Practice', a powerful tool for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Meanwhile, Hoan My Thu Duc Hospital won the Non-Clinical Service Delivery Award for its 'Effective Change Management Programme on Infectious Waste and Segregation'. The project, launched in 2022, has reduced infectious medical waste by 20 per cent and cut costs for treating the waste by 58 per cent, while reinforcing safety standards.
"With pioneering, innovative, and effective initiatives, two projects within the Hoan My Medical Group have demonstrated highly efficient processes and a commitment to continuous improvement demonstrated in both clinical and non-clinical service delivery,” said Louise Cuskelly, executive director of ACHSI. “We appreciate the patient-centred focus and positive impact of the projects on the quality of safe and effective healthcare services.”
