At a press conference on September 15 to provide information on the COVID-19 situation in Ho Chi Minh City, Pham Duc Hai, spokesman of Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced some new measures being rolled out from September 16 to 30.
Firstly, shippers are allowed to operate inter-district from 6am to 9pm each day with the condition that they have to comply with COVID-19 prevention measures and get tested every two days. The testing will be financed from the city budget until the end of September 30.
Secondly, some businesses will be allowed to operate from 6am to 9pm each day, including postal and telecommunications services; office informatics equipment and learning tools; take-away food services; services supporting agricultural production and veterinary facilities; maintenance and repair works, machinery and equipment, means of transport and supply of components and spare parts; producing, processing and trading food and foodstuffs.
Certainly, there are several conditions for these businesses to reopen. In particular, delivery staff of these businesses are only allowed to operate within one district and city. Also, they have to be tested every two days, with the testing cost paid by enterprises. Moreover, employees at work must be vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and tested every five days. The cost of testing is paid by enterprises.
