The capital Hanoi ranked 96th and is the only representative in Vietnam mentioned in the World's Best Cities ranking.

Among the 20 Asian cities in the top 100, Hanoi is ranked 96th, behind the cities of Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, and Beijing.

Japan and China are the most mentioned countries in the rankings. While Japan has four top destinations including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Saporro, Chinese cities include Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Korea has two cities in the list: Seoul and Busan.

Although not as large and bustling as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi has many attractions, vibrant markets for shopping, and vibrant nightlife.

Hanoi is also highly rated in the "Liveability" category, with the hotel market expected to explode with the addition of 60 new projects with more than 11,000 rooms. Among them, more than 60 per cent are 5-star hotels.

Ranked number one in the World's Best Cities ranking is London. Experts say the British capital is "the most liveable and lovely place" with a rich history and culture, elite hotels and shops serving delicious food, and convenient metro lines. Last year, London also held the number one position in this ranking.

World's Best Cities is an annual ranking since 2015 by Resonance, the global tourism and real estate consulting company, once considered by Bloomberg to be the most comprehensive ranking of cities in the world thanks to its prestige from surveyed data.

The ranking evaluated 270 large cities with a population of more than one million people based on three categories including liveability, city prosperity and attractiveness in attracting tourists and economic development.
