The information was highlighted at a press briefing on May 16 to introduce the Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition (VILOG 2025), which is set to take place from July 31 to August 2 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City.
Tran Thanh Hai, deputy director general of the Agency of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said, “Many international partners require not only green products but also green transportation processes. If Vietnamese logistics enterprises do not change in time, they will face the risk of being eliminated from the global supply chain.”
Vietnam has been cementing its position as a logistics service centre in Southeast Asian, with stringent policies, regulations, and international integration requirements.
“New-generation free trade agreements require Vietnamese businesses to raise standards and reduce carbon emissions in logistics. Therefore, it is vital for businesses to integrate technologies and strengthen collaboration to achieve sustainable growth,” Hai said.
He further noted that more attention is being paid to green logistics. Multinational corporations investing in Vietnam require their logistics partners to meet green standards. If Vietnamese logistics businesses fail to meet these requirements, they are ineligible to join the global supply chain.
In the same vein, Dao Trong Khoa, president of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association, said, “With global turbulence and increasingly stringent sustainability requirements, the logistics industry – a key link in the supply chain – is facing an urgent need to strongly transform both operating model, technology, and development thinking.”
Under the theme “Digital Transformation and Partnership for Green Logistics”, VILOG 2025 will showcase groundbreaking advancements in automation, AI, IoT-driven supply chains, and smart warehouse management. The event will also feature 10 international logistics associations and major logistics brands.
Khoa said, “Not only Vietnam, but the whole world is aiming to build a flexible, efficient, and environmentally responsible supply chain. We believe that the exhibition will be a launch pad for innovation and networking, contributing to raising the position of Vietnam's logistics industry on the global supply chain map.”
