Good news for mobile subscribers

The country’s second largest mobile operator MobiFone will run a special promotion programme for new pre-paid subscribers during February 16-28.

New pre-paid subscribers of the MobiCard va MobiZone packages will receive bonus of total value of new subscription kit, but pay only half of charge for the kit, enjoying double activated duration time of 45 days.

For instance, a new subscriber of a kit valued at VND75,000 ($3.6) will enjoy a VND60,000 ($2.8) deposit in their main account along with VND75,000 ($3.6) in their bonus account.

Those customers will also enjoy bonus of half of total deposit in the next 10 times deposits before May 1.

MobiFone set a modest target for this year with five million new mobile subscribers generating a revenue of VND39 trillion ($1.95 billion) and pre-tax profit of VND6.1 trillion ($305 million).

Mobifone reportedly earned revenue valued at VND36 trillion ($1.8 billion), making up around 35 per cent of its parent VNPT Group’s total revenue last year.

MobiFone signed in 5.95 million new mobile subscribers generating revenue for the operator.

The operator reportedly earned pre-tax profits of VND5.8 trillion ($290 million), a year-on-year increase of 6 per cent against figures in 2009. The profit accounted for 52.3 per cent of its parent VNPT Group’s pre-tax profit in 2010.
