For the first time, Diageo Vietnam (a subsidiary of Diageo, the owner of internationally prestigious brands such as Johnnie Walker, Mortlach, and Singleton) has been recognised as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Asia in 2021 by HR Asia, the leading publication for HR professionals across the continent.

Based on HR Asia’s proprietary Total Engagement Assessment Model (TEAM) – one of the largest employee engagement surveys in Asia with 30,000 employees participating – Diageo Vietnam (DVL) has scored high across all assessment criteria and been selected in the list of 115 winners amongst 581 employers participating from Vietnam in 2021.

As the acclaimed award for companies across Asia, over the years, the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for Awards has accumulated a prestigious applicant portfolio featuring Fortune 500 companies across several sectors, including multinational corporations, as well as private and state-owned companies.

This year, the nominees from 22 industries across more than 13 nations have undergone a holistic and informative assessment process that covers extensive aspects of the working environment, including culture and ethics, leadership, level of employee engagement as well as sense of motivation and teamwork.

Given the current context of COVID-19, the awards help employees across Asia recognise the best employers who genuinely care for their people’s well-being, as well as motivate companies to keep up their good work in such a challenging time.

As a British business operating in Vietnam, DVL takes pride in its diverse and vibrant workforce and aims to build an energetic and rewarding environment where diverse opinions and ideas have room to be shared and brought to life.

“At DVL, we embrace the differences and the opportunities for our people to raise their voice and achieve both personal and professional goals,” said Nguyen Anh Thi, general manager of Diageo Vietnam. “We commit to investing in our people, helping them become the best versions of themselves. It is Diageo’s strong corporate culture that drives a unique employee engagement strategy for its global workforce. Diageo supports all employees in every stage of their lives and careers with six key pillars: Total Rewards and Benefits packages, Wellbeing care initiatives, Flex Philosophy, Training and Development, Recognition Programmes, and Life Fulfillment.

These are reflected in a raft of wellbeing programmes with a full range of services to meet the needs and improve the quality of life for employees and their families, such as medical insurance or COVID-19 treatment care for employees and their families, among others.

Finally, Diageo helps employees reach personal life goals and manage life events by the Paid Parental Leave Policy scheme, a policy set up to support associates who become a parent through a birth, adoption, or foster care placement, with up to 26 weeks of protected paid time away from work.

Now, being honoured as the best company to work for in Asia, DVL is on its way to building a desirable workplace where members have the freedom to grow and succeed and are empowered to help people celebrate life every day, everywhere.
