As a result of this initiative, over one tonne of waste was collected between the two beaches. Citi volunteers also installed 20 large bins for rubbish disposal at the open beach areas both in Haiphong and Phan Thiet that are convenient and accessible to those visiting the beaches.

Speaking about Citi's Global Community Day initiative, Ramachandran A.S., Vietnam Citi Country Officer, said, “At Citi, we are very keen on giving back to the local communities, it is core to who we are. We are using our resources as a global bank to help address society's greatest challenges, one of which is the preservation of the environment."

40 Citi employees and alumni also participated in blood donation drives held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to commemorate World Blood Donor Day on June 14. The aim of this activity was to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and the critical importance of voluntary contributions to the national health system, as it can be crucial in saving lives.

Since 2006, Citi's Global Community Day has been held every May and June in over 80 countries and 450 cities throughout the world, generating over 5 million hours of volunteering service.
