Reacting to popular support, CapitaLand Vietnam has doubled its pledge under the "Spread Love, Share Hope" campaign |
The "Spread Love, Share Hope" social media campaign and book donation started on 19 May. Within two weeks, the campaign received strong response from the public, achieving CapitaLand Vietnam’s initial pledge of VND500 million ($21,740).
In support of this, CapitaLand Vietnam is doubling its pledge to VND1 billion ($43,480).
The funds raised will go to enhancing school facilities in Son Dong and Luc Nam districts of Bac Giang province. The donated books will be delivered to CapitaLand Hope Schools across Vietnam.
Ronald Tay, CEO of CapitaLand Vietnam said that as a responsible real estate company, CapitaLand Vietnam has been contributing to the communities in which it operates.
“Corporate social responsibility is an important part of CapitaLand Vietnam’s corporate culture. Through CapitaLand’s philanthropic arm, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, we have been supporting the education, shelter and healthcare needs of underprivileged children in Vietnam,” said Tay.
Since opening its first Hope School in Vietnam 10 years ago, CapitaLand has worked closely with its network of Hope Schools and partners to ensure underprivileged students are able to receive access to proper education and have a brighter future.
“CapitaLand Vietnam remains committed to the long-term development of the Vietnamese economy and the community. Through our 'Spread Love, Share Hope' campaign, we aim to raise awareness within the community on the importance of social growth and development of underprivileged children. We thank our partners and the community who have joined us to elevate our contribution towards providing better opportunities for our beneficiaries,” Tay confirmed.
Over the past 10 years, CapitaLand Vietnam and CHF have contributed to building and renovating four CapitaLand Primary Hope Schools and Kindergartens in Vietnam.
In December 2020, CapitaLand Vietnam and CHF kickstarted the "CapitaLand Nutrition for Children" programme to promote good health for children and highlight the importance of consuming milk in their daily diet. Over the course of two months, 64,000 glasses of milk were provided to more than 1,400 children across the four CapitaLand Hope Schools in Vietnam.
CapitaLand Vietnam and CHF regularly support the education needs of underprivileged students at the Hope Schools with the provision of school bags, learning tools, and scholarships. A strong advocate for volunteerism, CapitaLand Vietnam and CHF also organise volunteer activities such as "CapitaLand Volunteer Day" and ‘International Volunteer Expeditions’ at the Hope Schools.
