The conference was part of activities to help implement Resolution No.37/NQ-CP on innovating and improving the performance of training high-quality human resources to meet the needs of sustainable development of the agriculture and rural development sector by 2025
"In the context of agriculture, issues such as technology, automation, Internet of Things, big data, and AI have been creating many challenges for human resources not only in Vietnam but all over the world. This requires human resources to catch up with the industry’s development trends to meet changes in production capacity distribution, production methods, management, and consumption," Le Minh Hoan, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development said at the conference. "Besides this, to promote the development of skills, and innovative thinking of the workforce in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, businesses, and universities and colleges, it is necessary to have specific programmes and plans for teaching and professional skills, and close connection between schools and businesses to train high-quality human resources for businesses."
The MARD is also promoting agricultural vocational training and agricultural knowledge support, expanding the pilot of training agricultural human resources at intermediate level in the ministry's colleges in accordance with the Japanese model for students graduating from secondary schools. They are expected to have the ability to work in domestic agricultural enterprises, work abroad, or to continue to study at a higher level.
