Banyan Tree Group introduces new area general manager

In his new role, Rodriguez will oversee the luxurious all-pool-villa Banyan Tree Lang Co and the 5-star family-friendly Angsana Lang Co.

Hailing from the historical and culturally rich Brittany, a peninsula in France’s northwestern region that is famous for its impressive fortified cities, Rodriguez began to foster a love of travel from a very early age.

“I grew up in Brittany, attracting many travellers with its magnificent beauty of the medieval fortified city of Mont Saint-Michel and fascinating stories of sea crusades and pirates in days gone by,” said Rodriguez.

“I was amazed about how people from around the world came to discover the culture and history of my homeland; then found my passion for travel and shaped my career path to fit my passion.”

Shortly after acquiring a degree in mathematics and sciences, Rodriguez decided to pursue a career in the hospitality industry by achieving an advanced vocational diploma in the hotel and restaurant business. Over the past two decades, he has gained valuable experience in hotel and resort operations with many well-known hotel companies, from Marriott International, IHG to Minor Hotels.

In the early 2000s, Rodriguez moved to Singapore and quickly fell in love with Asia, the world's largest and most diverse continent. After that, his next moves took him to various destinations in Asia, including Thailand, where he met the love of his life, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
