American International Hospital collaborates with Johns Hopkins Medicine International for American standard healthcare services

Under this long-term collaboration, the hospital (AIH) continues to standardise and improve the quality of healthcare services according to American standards in Vietnam.

Efforts to standardise services according to American standards

AIH is the first international hospital in Vietnam to apply both JCI and American standards in design and construction, diagnosis and treatment, management and operation.

With a determination to bring American standard healthcare services to patients and their families in Vietnam, AIH has made great efforts to become the first hospital to cooperate with Johns Hopkins Medicine International in Vietnam, the global division of Johns Hopkins Medicine, a world-leading healthcare system in clinical research and academic education with more than 100 years of experience.

Within this collaboration, AIH has the opportunity to approach the world's most advanced medical knowledge and research, techniques and technology in diagnosis, treatment, operation, and management.

In the meantime, AIH and Johns Hopkins Medicine doctors and experts will periodically organise training programmes and seminars to update medical advances in examination and treatment for all specialties at AIH.

“Collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine International helps us ensure we stay on “roadmap” to the American standard and dedicate to bring out the best caring to our patients,” said Nguyen Thi My Linh, CEO of AIH.

After four years of collaboration, AIH has improved its service quality, patient safety, and clinical and operational procedures and especially gained the trust and love of patients to the AIH brand name.

Last November, AIH achieved the JCI Gold Seal of Approval® after four years of operation, which was delayed due to the pandemic. This is not only a global healthcare service quality certification but also a worthy reward for the tireless efforts of AIH dedicated and united team towards ensuring patient safety. JCI accreditation is also the recognition that proves AIH long-lasting commitment to excellent quality and patient care.

Unsafe care is one of the world's top 10 causes of death and injury. Patient safety is the most significant goal of JCI and international medical standards.

JCI standards are constantly updated based on monitoring and evaluation of daily operations and patient care, and the development tendencies of the global healthcare industry.

JCI seeks to make the proper adjustments and standardise the procedures every three years to help medical organisations limit medical errors and risks for patients.

AIH owns a system of modern and advanced facilities

“JCI accreditation will not probably help us increase revenue or attract more customers and we don't do it for revenue or profit. We choose to pursue JCI standard - one of the prestigious ‘American standards’ because we want to improve the quality of healthcare services and put the safety for patients first. Whatever regards to patient safety, we are willing to invest in,” said Nguyen Thi My Linh, CEO of AIH.

AIH’s strategy in the upcoming period is continuing quality standardisation to ensure the patients have the same experience not only in facilities but also with the team of caregivers as well as healthcare service quality.

Those are the benefits for patients that AIH commits through the collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine International and JCI accreditation.

In 2022, AIH has invested more than $2.1 million in the system of modern medical facilities and equipments to upgrade healthcare services quality.

In the forthcoming time, the hospital would continue to adjust and standardise procedures in diagnosis and treatment, operation and management, as well as develop and enhance clinical training for their doctors and external clinicians on advanced knowledge and techniques leveraging Johns Hopkins Medicine expertises with special focus on AIH's key specialties: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Neonatology, General Surgery, Urology and Andrology and Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
