Has environmental protection been a central focus of the company’s initiatives over the years?

Recognising the social responsibility, especially concerning environmental issues, from the outset of developing the industrial park (IP) infrastructure and attracting investors to set up production facilities, our company has established criteria and adhered to principles that prioritise environmental protection. This is seen as a critical task for the IPs to operate long-term and achieve sustainable development.

Additionally, to promote the spirit of environmental responsibility, we understand that our company must set a model example in this area. Only by doing so can we, the developer of Bao Minh IP in Nam Dinh province and Hai Long IP in Thai Binh economic zone, gain the trust of our tenants and collectively pursue sustainable development goals.

Can you elaborate on the environmental protection schemes at your company’s IPs?

Our company has systematically invested in modern environmental protection facilities, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. We guarantee that all wastewater is collected and treated through a centralised wastewater treatment system, and that all treated wastewater meets regulatory standards before being discharged into the environment.

Moreover, Bao Minh IP adheres strictly to a proactive rather than reactive approach, prioritising the prevention and preparedness for environmental incidents. Every enterprise within the IP must have a contingency plan for environmental emergencies and install necessary preventive measures before operating their facilities.

This includes wastewater treatment systems, emergency wastewater storage systems, emergency pumps, and sluice gates. These measures ensure that even if an environmental incident occurs at one plant, it will not spread or impact the surrounding areas.

When it comes to environmental issues, we cannot overlook technical and technological solutions. How has the company implemented these?

In its efforts to attract and recruit, Bao Minh IP prioritises inviting investors who plan to build factories with modern, advanced technologies that have minimal environmental impact. The company encourages businesses to enhance their production technologies and adopt closed-loop processes, closely controlling waste and emissions.

Implementing technological solutions means applying advanced scientific and technical achievements and clean technology equipment to production, ensuring minimal resource and energy use while generating the least amount of waste.

In addition to the criteria and principles mentioned, since 2018, the company has been certified by the international organisation TUV Nord for meeting international standards in infrastructure management and environmental protection.

In 2022, our company was also honoured by the Urban and Infrastructure Development Research Institute as an outstanding IP for its environmentally friendly technical infrastructure, landscape, and professional services.

Does the company have specific environmental protection measures in place for employees, considering they play a crucial role in implementing the company’s and investors’ commitments?

Our company continually strives to enhance the role of employees within each company in identifying and providing feedback on the environmental protection practices and the attention given to the material and psychological wellbeing of workers.

We regularly consult trade unions and human resource managers in companies to obtain accurate feedback and address concerns with business owners when necessary. This is a crucial measure, as inadequate environmental protection practices by companies directly impact the local community, affecting their health and even their lives.

Therefore, it is essential to strengthen and leverage the role of employees in identifying companies that are not meeting standards. This allows us to engage in discussions with management to develop solutions and improve practices.

What is the company’s mindset towards pursuing green development goals?

In our core values, social responsibility is not merely a compulsory social activity. We view it as a privilege and an honour to share responsibility with the government, employees, and the local community. It is also a source of pride for our customers and partners.

These criteria and principles will undoubtedly continue to guide the company, not only in the existing IP, but also as we elevate and apply them to future projects.

Recently, your company organised a promotion event with investors from China. Could you share some insights on the sectors that are currently being prioritised for development?

At this event, electronics, high technology, and AI were the main areas of interest for investors. This also demonstrates our commitment to green development, as we strive to pull in higher-quality funding with greater intellectual and technological value.

During the event, we signed cooperation agreements with the Guangdong High-Tech Chamber of Commerce, the Shenzhen Intelligent Equipment Association, the Shenzhen Electronics Association, and the Bach Tai Group. We hope these initial partnerships will not only enhance the operational efficiency of our IP, but also bring our green development strategies to fruition and attract high-quality investors to Vietnam in the near future.
