2,000 GrabCar vehicles to be equipped with Panasonic nanoe X air quality solutions

Panasonic cooperates with Grab to apply its nanoe X technology in 2,000 GrabCar vehicles in Vietnam

Specifically, in Vietnam, 2,000 units of Grab cars in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will be equipped with nanoeX generators, with the purpose of enabling clean air in mobile space and comfortable rides for Vietnamese people on Grab vehicles.

Marukawa Yoichi, general director of Panasonic Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared that, “The novel coronavirus is raging around the world, threatening people's health and forcing a major change in our way of life. Amidst the growing interest in cleanliness in air quality in particular, we have decided to work together with Grab using nanoe X technology, which is the core of our purifying technology, tested and verified to have an inhibitory effect on the novel coronavirus."

nanoe is a nanosized particulate ion produced by applying a high voltage to water in the air and contains hydroxyl radicals (highly reactive components) that easily act on various substances. The production of these hydroxyl radicals has been increased tenfold compared to conventional products, and nanoe X is used in home appliances such as air purifiers, air conditioners, washing machines, and refrigerators, as well as in automobiles, trains, and commercial air conditioning equipment because of its various effects such as deodorisation, suppression of bacteria, and allergens.

The nanoe X generator, which will be installed in GrabCar Premium vehicles, is powered by a USB port and is compact enough to fit in a car cup holder, making it easy to generate nanoe X to clean the air inside the car.

The project is implemented in five major cities – Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City – with a total of 5,500 GrabCar vehicles installed with nanoe X generators. Panasonic will continue to pursue the realisation of "Quality Air For Life" in various areas of life and society, including home appliances, automotive, and housing-related fields, to deliver a healthy lifestyle.
