The event is part of diverse activities marking the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
The exhibition introduces the public to the first artworks featuring the image of the legendary general Vo Nguyen Giap, such as photos of the General taken by journalists Tran Hong and Nguyen Dinh Toan, large portrait oil paintings by artist Dang Xuan Hung, lacquer paintings by artist Nguyen Van Tuan, posters by artist Ha Huy Le, sculptures by sculptor Tran Van Thuc and the portrait of General Giap made from 60,000 matchsticks by housewife Ngo Thi Thuc.
The highlight of the exhibition is a set of six objects representing the 60 years since the Dien Bien Phu victory including a gold-gilded bronze portrait statue, golden medals of the General and Dien Bien Phu, 105mm artillery shell demonstrating "Proud Vietnam" artwork, oil painting portraits, lighters engraved with the logo of Dien Bien Phu and special publications on General Vo Nguyen Giap.
All works are showcased in a sophisticated and sharp way featuring the portrait, life and career of "the elder brother of the Vietnamese People's Army".
Tran Thanh Tung, a member of the Heritage Cub House said, every piece displayed at the exhibition gives the public an insight into the talent and personality of General Vo Nguyen Giap and the national pride of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
Lieutenant General Le Phuc Nguyen, Editor-in-Chief of the Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People's Army) newspaper described the exhibition as an excellent opportunity to educate the people and younger generations about the ethical and talented General and his tremendous contributions to nation liberation.
The exhibition runs until May 10.
