VIR to host seminar on Vietnam's stock market

The Vietnamese securities sector has witnessed numerous significant events in July, including the 26th anniversary of the issuance of Government Decree No.48 on securities and the stock market, along with the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange and the first-ever stock trading session.

To commemorate these events and provide a forum to identify and share new dynamics and opportunities in the stock market, VIR will host a seminar entitled, 'Vietnam stock market: New dynamics, new opportunities' on July 23, from 9:00 am.

The last quarter-century has seen the stock market record significant achievements and leave a mark on the financial market of Vietnam, along with the country's overall economic and social development process.

Investors are also looking towards 2025, the milestone when the Vietnamese stock market will be upgraded from frontier to emerging market status, according to the Vietnam Stock Market Development Strategy to 2030, approved at the end of last year.

The upgrade of the stock market from frontier to emerging is expected to enhance the image of the investment environment, promote overall economic development, with more new companies listing and more domestic and foreign investors participating.

This, in turn, will help the stock market to truly become an important capital mobilisation channel for the economy and bring many opportunities for market participants.

The seminar will feature the following speakers, Bui Hoang Hai, vice chairman of the State Securities Commission, Dang Thanh Tam, chairman of the board of directors of Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation, Le Thi Le Hang, CEO of SSI Asset Management, and Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, CEO of Techcom Securities.
