The ceremony on July 28 |
Reporters from VIR and other media agencies received the awards at a ceremony hosted by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission and the Central Steering Committee for External Information Services and other units on July 28 to honour 175 outstanding journalism works on foreign affairs in 2020.
This was the sixth time the recognition is handed out. This year, the number of candidates exceeded the previous years, including many more foreign writers.
Addressing the event, Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan congratulated the winners, saying that, “These works reflect on the hot issues in Vietnam and the world and contribute more to increasing people’s awareness about Vietnam's image and culture among international friends as well as to enhancing international ties.”
Chairwoman Ngan also took time to encourage the study and forecasting activities of foreign affairs, allowing proactive and more flexible ideation to come up with innovative solutions to meet the new development period.
