The 14th International Water Supply, Sanitation, Water Resources and Purification Exhibition (VietWater 2023) is taking place from October 11 to 13 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting approximately 450 businesses from 25 countries and territories.

The event is the ideal platform for exhibitors to showcase their most advanced products, from resource management technologies, industrial innovations, and agricultural irrigation to urban water supply and drainage and other water-related solutions.

VIETWATER 2023 is scheduled to be held at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center on October 11-13.

In addition to the exhibitors, the event is expected to surpass 10,000 trade visitors.

This year's edition promises an all-inclusive business programme tailored for government agencies, enterprises, and individuals involved in the water and environmental sectors.

BT Tee, general manager of Informa Markets Vietnam – the organiser of VietWater 2023 – said, "We are aware of the importance of water in shaping the strategy of sustainable development. Water is an essential part of the solution to multiple crises, including those related to the climate, biodiversity, inequity, migration, and even peace. To ensure sustainable efficiency, technological innovation is the first step that needs to be achieved."

"This is the mission of VietWater 2023 as it brings together the most advanced water and waste treatment solutions from around the world. Alongside the product showcase, leading industry experts will share their knowledge and networking sessions will help businesses to overcome the existing challenges," he added.

VietWater 2023 covers around 10,000 square metres. It is welcoming exhibitors from England, France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Israel, and many others parts of the world.

In addition to the exhibition space, VietWater 2023 also offers an international conference programme that has garnered significant attention from the domestic and international business communities.

The theme of the conference is Accelerating On-Demand Innovations for Smart Water Governance. It is bringing together leading speakers from the water resource management sector, from both domestic and international institutions and associations.

Through these discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to insights from renowned speakers in the international water industry. They will also learn about the application of science and technology to support the sustainable development of Vietnam's water sector, promoting efficient and water-saving practices for the benefit of both present and future generations.

Furthermore, to connect potential customers with global suppliers, VietWater 2023 offers a business matching programme. It was created to facilitate one-on-one discussions for attendees to meet, exchange ideas, and enhance their partnerships. It promises to create new opportunities and significant benefits for companies.

The water industry market in Vietnam is undergoing significant growth. The government has laid out plans for developing water supply systems in urban and industrial areas by 2025, aiming for 100 per cent access to clean water in cities with a daily consumption target of 120 litres per person.

In rural areas, the goal is to ensure 75 per cent of the population has safe access to clean water. These plans encourage investment in the sector and boost the demand for water, fostering the overall growth of water supply.

The clean water market in Vietnam has gained substantial interest from foreign companies, with many of them making significant investments and increasing their holdings in water businesses.

For example, Vietnam-Oman Investment JSC has injected $19 million into the construction of Song Hau Water Plant, which supplies water in Soc Trang and Hau Giang provinces. Additionally, Manila Water Asia-Pacific (Philippines) has made investments with Saigon Water Infrastructure Corporation.

These efforts by foreign enterprises to enter the Vietnamese clean water market strongly underscore the growth potential of the nation's water industry.

VietWater 2023, with its wide-ranging product exhibitions, valuable seminar sessions, and networking programmes, is expected to open a new chapter for the sustainable development of the water industry in Vietnam.
