Vietnam welcomes nearly 1.9 million foreign visitors in February

The number of international arrivals to Vietnam in February reached close to 1.895 million, an on-year increase of around 24 per cent.

According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Vietnam welcomed just under 3.965 million foreign visitors in the first two months of 2025, marking a more-than 30 per cent increase on-year.

The markets that were the source of the most international visitors were South Korea, China, Taiwan, the United States, Japan, Malaysia, India, and Cambodia.

Mainland China remained Vietnam's largest source of visitors, with around 955,700 arrivals, South Korea ranked second with 885,140 tourists, representing an increase of 5 per cent. These two markets account for 46 per cent of the total arrivals to Vietnam. Next was Taiwan (China) in third place with 218,000 arrivals, followed by the US in fourth place with 180,000 arrivals.

Other markets also experienced significant growth compared to January, including Poland (46 per cent), Malaysia (40 per cent), France (25 per cent), Belgium (25 per cent), Denmark (25 per cent), Laos (22 per cent), Germany (19 per cent), the UK (17 per cent), Canada (17 per cent) and the Netherlands (12 per cent).

The markets with a decrease in the number of tourists compared to January are as follows: Cambodia decreased by 58 per cent, New Zealand by 46 per cent, Australia by 42 per cent, China by 34 per cent, Sweden by 17 per cent, India by 16 per cent, and Russia by 14 per cent. Of the total international tourists, over 1.6 million travelled by air, more than 54,400 travelled by sea, and over 238,800 travelled by road.

The authority also revealed that the number of domestic tourists in February is estimated at 11 million, with approximately 3.8 million tourists staying overnight.

The accumulated number of domestic tourists in the first two months of 2025 reached 26.5 million. The total revenue from tourists in February 2025 is estimated at $6.2 billion.
