This was the second time in a week that Hanoi has inspected C.P. Vietnam's pig slaughterhouses in the district.

The inspection found that the slaughtering areas were in line with technical standards, ensuring veterinary hygiene and food safety. The slaughtering activities were closely monitored by officers from the Animal Slaughter Diagnosis, Testing, and Control Station under the Hanoi Department of Livestock, Fisheries and Veterinary Medicine.

The factory has a solid structure, and the functional areas are separated, while the slaughtering process strictly complies with veterinary hygiene regulations. The slaughter line at the company is an automatic system with a capacity of 2,000 pigs per day.

The slaughterhouse is equipped with a cooling system, and misting and modern equipment, ensuring safety and hygiene. The owner and those directly involved in the slaughter have all been trained and granted certificates on food safety, and complied with regulations on personal hygiene.

At the time of the inspection, the company was slaughtering about 600 pigs.

On June 5, Hanoi Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Veterinary Medicine also inspected the same factory. On June 4, this unit inspected poultry slaughtering at C.P. Vietnam's Hanoi meat processing factory also in Chuong My district.

The inspection team concluded that C.P. Vietnam's Chuong My branch in Hanoi fully implemented legal regulations related to pig and poultry slaughtering.

Currently, Hanoi has 701 slaughterhouses, and meat output supplied to the market is about 450 tonnes per day.

Nguyen Dinh Dang, head of Hanoi Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries ,and Veterinary Medicine, said that management at small-scale slaughterhouses still faces difficulties due to lack of personnel, but the veterinary agency cannot enforce violations.

"There are no regulations on intra-provincial quarantine, leading to challenges in origin traceability of animals after slaughter," he said.

In June 2025, Hanoi Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Veterinary Medicine plans to inspect 35 slaughterhouses in the city.
