The large-scale tourism promotion programme ever before is within the framework of the Vietnam-Japan tourism trade promotion operations. The programme also is celebrated in many other Asia countries.
Chieko Sugisaki, senior director of tourism division under the Bureau of Tokyo Industrial and Labor Affairs said that Vietnam was one of the most impressive growth level countries over the past few years and more and more Vietnamese tourists came to Japan to visit and go shopping.
According to Tokyo government’s introduction, Tokyo includes both traditional and modern beauty where concentrates scores of the world’s leading companies, sky-high buildings such as Tokyo Sky Tree, modern shopping centres such as Ginza, Shinkuku and Shinbuya, entertainment areas namely Tokyo Disneyland or Sumo Ryokoku kokugikan arena and the great science-technology achievements. The city also is known by traditional foods stores and the place was selected to celebrate the Olympics 2020.
Last year, the total number of tourists to Japan reached more than 10 million, of which Vietnamese tourists was 90,000, up 150 per cent year-on-year.
