Admission prices at Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park will remain unchanged until end-2017, the management of the park said at a tourism promotion conference in HCMC on Monday.

Hoang Hai Van, deputy director of the national park, said this is one of the commitments which Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center has made to its partner travel firms.

Quang Binh Province announced to strongly hike ticket prices at many tourist destinations early last year. The cost of admission to Thien Duong and Me Bong Con caves doubled from VND120,000 to VND250,000 per person, Phong Nha Cave from VND80,000 to VND150,000, and Tien Son Cave from VND40,000 to VND80,000.

Tourism companies and visitors decried the price rises and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) intervened by urging the province to rethink the price spikes.

Quang Binh Province has become a well-known destination for domestic and international tourists given its stunning caves. It attracted three million tourists last year, three times higher than in 2013.
