According to the commission, it issued Decision No.163/QD-XPHC on June 8, imposing a penalty on the company for two violations.

The first involved providing incomplete information to consumers as required by law, while the second related to including prohibited clauses in its standard terms and conditions of trade.

In addition to the financial penalty, the commission has instructed Procter & Gamble Vietnam to promptly remedy the violations by reviewing, revising, and improving its standard trading terms and consumer information practices to ensure full compliance with Vietnam's consumer protection regulations.

The commission noted that during the investigation, the company actively cooperated with the local authorities by providing requested information and documents promptly. It also proactively implemented recommendations aimed at addressing the identified shortcomings.

The commission said the enforcement action would help improve transparency in business operations, strengthen corporate compliance with consumer protection laws, deter future violations, and better safeguard consumers' legitimate rights and interests.

P&G Vietnam is a wholly foreign-owned enterprise that owns a wide range of well-known consumer brands in the Vietnamese market, including Tide, Ariel, Downy, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Rejoice, Pampers, and Gillette.
