PetroVietnam and Honda are still missing from the MoIT's list of prestigious exporters |
268 exporters from 25 industries were picked by the MoIT based on export turnover and prestige in trading with foreign partners as well as compliance with the state’s regulations on customs, tariffs, and environment. Something of a surprise, PetroVietnam and Honda were not on the list this year either.
Previously, the shortlist of prestigious exporters for 2019 was published on the portal of MoIT to collect opinions from the public.
The list covers 25 commodity sectors including farm produce, garment, telephone, electric equipment, wood, plastics, confectionery, and footwear.
The vote aimed to recognise exporters’ positive contributions to the country’s export growth while giving them support in seeking new markets.
It also aimed to encourage Vietnamese exporters to further improve their image as the country integrates deeper into the world economy.
The voted exporters will be permitted to advertise their products for free on the ministry’s website, newspapers, and magazines.
This is the second year that PetroVietnam, Vietsopetro, and Honda Vietnam are not on the list.
