VIR's 30th Anniversary |
Tran Tuan Anh On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam Investment Review, on behalf of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, I would like to send to all leaders, reporters, editors, and other employees of VIR my warmest congratulations. The 30-year development of VIR is associated with the country’s doi moi journey and international integration. It is a great honour and I am glad to see that VIR has made positive contributions and reflected the diversity, vividness, and achievements of the national renovation, economic reform, and press renewal. Through each issue of VIR’s publications, it is possible to see steps, difficult periods, and developments of the economy, from central planning to a socialist-oriented and market-based economy, with the doors open for integration in general and international economic integration in particular. VIR has been doing a good job in timely conveying the Party’s guidelines on socioeconomic development to a large community of readers at home and abroad. At the same time, it has also updated the feedback from the business community, investors, and society so that the advisory agencies of the Party and the state can have more useful information in the process of making guidelines and policies. Articles and topics on developing the private economy, perfecting market economy institutions, attracting foreign direct investment, and participating in the Fourth Industrial Revolution are all helpful and valuable. On behalf of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, I highly appreciate the participation and contributions of VIR in communicating and implementing the Party’s resolutions, quickly bringing these to the country’s economic life in a practical, close, and effective manner. The entire Party, people, and armed forces are actively carrying out the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress in order to successfully realise the country’s strategic goals, so that Vietnam will become a developing country with modernity-oriented industry and exceeding the lower middle income level by 2025, a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030, and a developed nation with high income by 2045. In addition to advantages and opportunities, there are also many challenges ahead, especially as the pandemic is now changing many aspects of socioeconomic life. To accomplish the goals of the congress’ resolution, it requires great efforts and determination of the whole political system, businesses, and the people. I believe that, with the sense of responsibility, solidarity, creativity, and determination of the press at large and VIR – a prestigious and experienced press office – in particular, there will continue to be more contributions to the communication work and the development of a prosperous Vietnam. On this occasion, I would like to wish all VIR journalists further development, good health, happiness, and success. |
Nguyen Manh Hung On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Information and Communications, I would like to extend best wishes to generations of leaders, journalists, editors, and all staff at Vietnam Investment Review on its 30th anniversary. Over the past 30 years, VIR has accompanied the country’s doi moi cause, door-opening, and international integration, VIR has also made important contributions to national socioeconomic development. VIR is a prestigious press office and a reliable companion of domestic and international businesses and investors, as well as of state management agencies. The Ministry of Information and Communications highly appreciates the consistency and steadiness in keeping its principles and goals. With ceaseless efforts, VIR is one of the press agencies always pioneering in creating articles to effectively communicate the Party and state’s orientations and policies on investment and socioeconomic development. VIR presents the moves in economic development being made by the country in a quick, accurate, and objective manner; makes important contributions to the country’s attraction of domestic and foreign investment; covers the completion of the legal framework in many major economic sectors; and offers articles on the improvement of the business climate as well as promoting creation among startups. In the upcoming time, I hope that VIR will continue to be a positive factor of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press, in a new mission to arouse the desire of Vietnam’s mighty development and prosperity, while being fully aware of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the standpoint of the Party and the state about journalism. It must fulfill the assigned tasks, direct public opinions, and develop into a more powerful press office, thus contributing to increasing Vietnam’s status, prestige, and image in the international arena. I believe that in order to develop Vietnam into a powerful and prosperous nation, it has to emancipate the country’s unlimited resources – this is the strength and brainpower in each Vietnamese citizen. And the mission of arousing confidence and national aspiration is placed on journalists. VIR in particular, and other Vietnamese press agencies in general, will be an important factor to create consensus, social trust, and the power of spirit for Vietnam to make breakthroughs and rise. Together with the country’s economic reform, after 30 years VIR will enter a new period of development with more power, more creation, and more aspiration. I wish the editorial board, journalists, editors, and all staff at VIR creativeness and intelligence, with a move towards digital transformation to bring VIR to new heights. Wishing you all health, happiness, and success. |
Ho Duc Phoc On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam Investment Review, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Finance I would like to extend my best congratulations to the leaders, reporters, editors, and other employees of VIR. Well-known as a prestigious business newspaper over the past 30 years, VIR has been a companion of the banking and finance sectors to communicate new policies and visionary initiatives of the Party and state as well as to strongly reflect the sustainable development of Vietnam’s finance, and highlight the sector’s important contributions and key achievements to the innovation and integration of the country. Through many in-depth analysis features and persuasive regular columns, VIR’s publications have become reputable and critical forums to provide valuable information and encouragement for financial and budget policymakers to innovate financial policies and regulations, to administer fiscal policy, to develop financial and security markets, and so on. In the family of VIR publications, I have a great impression with Dau tu Chung khoan newspaper, specialising in banking and finance, money and securities, insurance, and entrepreneur analysis. Since its establishment in 1999, Dau tu Chung khoan has accompanied the newly-born financial and security market, and soon become an important open forum for policymakers, economists, investors, and entrepreneurs to share points of view on a wide range of fields. Accompanying the stock market development strategy in the coming years, it’s undeniable to record the key roles in communicating, encouraging, and criticising of such reliable news agencies as Dau tu Chung khoan and VIR’s publications. VIR has showcased itself impressively as an award-winning publication thanks to its sharp articles. It has also picked up some awarded noble rewards from the minister of finance for its contributions to exploring and promoting financial resources in developing the country in a practical manner. On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Finance, I would like to recognise and highly appreciate the efforts and contributions of VIR to the brilliant development of Vietnam financial industry over the years. The country is stepping into a very important time when the socioeconomic situation inside and outside the country is being affected seriously. I hope that in the voyage of shaping a stronger national financial system, VIR will always accompany us to adapt effectively to unforeseen challenges. Simultaneously, I believe that VIR will continuously maintain and strengthen its core values built up in the past 30 years inlaid upon solidarity, consensus, and determination to carry out the missions successfully despite the various obstacles ahead. Wishing all generations of VIR leaders, reporters, editors, and other employees good health, happiness, and success. |
Nguyen Hong Dien On the occasion of the 30th anniversary since the first issue of Vietnam Investment Review was published, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, I would like to extend my congratulations to the whole of VIR’s leaders, reporters, editors, and other employees. Undergoing three decades of foundation and development, VIR has step-by-step confirmed its role not only as the press office of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, but also as a leading and prestigious investment and business forum in Vietnam. Through observing a wide range of articles in VIR, I highly evaluate its concerted efforts in delivering multi-dimensional information in important economic fields in the country. The in-depth analyses and assessments by leading experts embedded in VIR have rendered the investor community and businesses with policy-related solutions, helping them to unclog the impediments they are facing in daily business practice. VIR also works with the industry and trade sector in communicating and delivering information about fresh policies in diverse fields. It offers articles with in-depth knowledge about new-generation free trade agreements, creating closer connections between production and the domestic market as well as international market, helping to lure more domestic and international investors, as well as providing useful input to the process of pending legal documents in petroleum and energy, among others. In the forthcoming time, accompanying the Party and the people, the industry and trade sector is making great endeavours to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress with concrete targets, including those on market development and investment attraction from local and external sources, as well as the development of fundamental industries like the supporting industry, chemicals, processing, manufacturing, and electronics. The Ministry of Industry and Trade expects further companionship of VIR with a proactive contribution to the sector’s policymaking process and later enforcement. Once again, I would like to convey my best wishes for good health, happiness, and success to all generations of leaders, reporters, editors, and other employees of Vietnam Investment Review, and expect VIR to stay firm on its development path with even greater contributions to the course of turning Vietnam into a thriving nation in the not-too-distant future. |
Nguyen Van The On the occasion of the 30-year anniversary, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Transport, I would like to send best wishes to the editorial board, journalists, editors, and the rest of the staff at Vietnam Investment Review. Over the past 30 years of development as a prestigious economic news agency, VIR has been a companion with the Ministry of Transport to communicate new policies and visionary initiatives of the Party and state on the transport sector. Through VIR, the Ministry of Transport has new angles of news and articles, especially in development of transport infrastructure; restructuring of means of transport; traffic order and safety; and restructuring of state-owned enterprises in the transport sector. The Ministry of Transport highly appreciates the efforts and contributions of VIR to the development of the transport sector over the past years. The press office with Vietnamese and English publications are truly a reliable information channel for domestic and foreign investors in mobilisation of investment in the transport sector. In recent times, VIR is one of the press agencies in Vietnam winning many prestigious awards in journalism contests in the transport sector. They include the first prize in the sector’s second journalism contest with a series of five articles titled “Developing 5,000km of expressways – the revolution of transport infrastructure”. In the future, the ministry expects that Vietnam Investment Review will continue to partner and support the sector in communicating the Party and state’s new policies; transportation of goods during COVID-19; mobilisation of resources, investment, and construction; maintenance of transport infrastructure; management and development of means of transport; disbursement of public investment; works to ensure construction quality; and comprehensive implementation of measures to reduce traffic accidents, so that readers can understand the sector’s efforts. The Ministry of Transport believes that in the period of difficulties ahead, VIR will continue to hold fast and promote good values as it has done over the past 30 years, while successfully fulfilling the set tasks and targets. Wishing you and your families good health, happiness, and success. |
Dang Hoang Giang On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of VIR, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I would like to extend congratulations to the leaders, reporters, editors, and all employees of Vietnam Investment Review. May VIR continue to promote its achievements over the past three decades, maintaining its position as a prestigious and high-quality newspaper in economics, investment, and finance, as well as an external information channel. This channel transmits not only guidelines, policies, and activities on foreign economic relations, but also effectively propagates external activities and international integration, enhancing the image and prestige of the country, and contributing to the successful implementation of the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress. Born in the early years of the country launching its doi moi and open-door policy, VIR, formerly known as Việt Nam Đầu tư nước ngoài (in the Vietnamese language) and Vietnam Investment Review (in the English language) have gradually become one of the leading economic newspaper agencies in Vietnam, with high-quality coverage of news and stories, reflecting the breath of the times and the strong development of the country amid its renovation and international integration, while suggesting good initiatives so that economic, investment, and financial activities can operate more effectively. VIR is also a symbol of the investment of its management body – the Ministry of Planning and Investment – as over a long period of time, its editor-in-chief always acted as an experienced leader of the ministry. It is VIR that has trained and produced many leading economic journalists, especially leading foreign-related economic journalists, for the national press. VIR is also the trailblazer in Vietnam in cooperation with a foreign company and foreign experts in simultaneously operating the Vietnamese and English newspapers with relatively high quality under international standards. With its great efforts, VIR has become a reliable source of information for domestic and foreign businesses and investors. VIR is also one of the press agencies that have well-coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in implementing policies and activities in international integration, economic diplomacy, and other diplomatic activities in service of national development. Amid harsh information competition, the press has had to gradually renew itself with new platforms and tools. It is recommended that VIR continues enhancing its studies and creativity to effectively transmit and spread the country’s policies and achievements, including diplomatic attainments, further asserting Vietnam’s increased role and status in the international arena. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its units stand ready to continue working with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and VIR in the upcoming development stages. |
