Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has been seeded No.10 at the London 2012 Olympics.

He is in group D along with world No.24 Parupalli Kashyap from India and world No.50 Yuhan Tan from Belgium.

This was announced at the Badminton competition draw held at the Main Press Centre in Olympic Park on July 23.

There will be competition in five different events, including the men’s and the women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Minh is the only Vietnamese to compete in the men’s singles, which has drawn 40 players in 16 groups.

In the first match scheduled for July 28, Minh will face his Indian rival, whom he narrowly defeated 21-13 and 21-18 at Swiss Open 2012.

At the Beijing Summer Games four years ago, Minh was eliminated right in the first round of the tournament.
