Minh continues winning streak at Asian champs
Top Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Minh easily thrashed his Singaporean rival Yong Zhao Ashton Chen 2-0 at the second round of the Badminton Asia Championship on April 18.
He finished the match with a 21-17 and 21-17 win after 53 minutes, and will meet the winner of the match between Yun Hu from Hong Kong and Sok Chanthorn from Cambodia at the next round.
Meanwhile, in the women’s doubles Vu Thi Trang/Nguyen Thi Sen and Dao Manh Thanh lost 0-2 to Hye In Choi/So Young Kim from the Republic of Korea, while Dao Manh Thang/Bui Bang Dung were also defeated 0-2 by Malaysia’s Shem Goh/Khim Wah Lim in the men’s doubles.
