VSTV is a joint venture between Vietnam Television and Groupe Canal+ via its subsidiary Canal Overseas.
VSTValso released new subscription fees which are revised upon the recent market research on the Vietnamese television audience’s demand. Therefore, the monthly subscription fees of Access+, Premium+ and HD+ are VND50,000 ($2.5), VND190,000 ($9.5) and VND270,000 ($13.5) respectively. This first amendment of subscription fees is a positive factor fostering the development of Pay-TV in Vietnam, especially the development of digital TV.
Cao Van Liet, general director of VSTV said: “The restructure of K+ packages is a necessary step after two years. I believe that this win-win solution will be beneficial for both client and K+. There will be significantly more people in rural areas, distant provinces having opportunity to access to K+ service. As a result, K+ will be able to develop strongly and to re-invest further in its quality of service in term of content, technology and customer care service for being more and more competitive.”
In details, Access+ provides 58 local and foreign SD channels. While being subscriber of this package, the viewers could access to the whole group of news channels, general entertainment (including K+PC channel), series, music, sport, channels for children, etc. with good contents and quality signals. In the point of content, Access+ was built to answer the majority of viewers’ demand of information and entertainment. At a fee of less than VND2,000 per day, almost all Vietnamese people are affordable to Access+. Comparing to the other current offers in the market, it is obvious that Access+ is the most competitive choice in the market.
Premium+ will offer viewers 72 quality SD channels. The main evolution of Premium+ is in its new monthly subscription fee at VND190,000. This amendment is a tough decision for K+ while dealing with the question: How to provide more attractive K+ contents such as series, sports, music, etc. to more viewers and K+ still keep align with its business target. Since K+ has been launched, apart from well-known national and international channels, the home-made channels K+1, K+NS and K+PC became progressively preferable to Vietnamese TV viewers by selected premium contents.
Pacingwith the trend of technological development of television over the world, K+ provided Premium HD+ with 72 SD channels and 8 HD channels (high resolution). Without racing for the quantity of HD channels, K+ focuses on bringing subscribers quality bouquet of native HD channels in order to ensure the true HD quality are provided with a good value. K+ has invested a big amount into the most popular HD channels which are K+1 HD, K+ NS HD, HBO HD, Star Movies HD, AXN HD, ESPN HD, Discovery HD and National Geographic HD.
