According to Nguyen Thuy Linh, director of Fujikin Danang Co., Ltd., the goal of the project is to accelerate scientific research and technical progress in areas such as robotics, drones, nanotechnology, hydrogen energy equipment, water purification system, wireless power transmission system, and new material development.
This is the first R&D centre developed by Fujikin in Vietnam. The project was granted an investment certificate by the Danang Hi-tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority (DHPIZA) in February. It was expected to start construction in May but the was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the inauguration, the R&D centre is slated to be put into operation and production in the second quarter of 2022, commemorating Fujikin's 20th year of investment in Vietnam. The company has signed a human resources training agreement with Danang College for Science and Technology to secure high-quality workforce for the project.
Tran Phuoc Son, vice chairman of Danang People's Committee said, "The R&D centre is the seventh project to be developed by Japanese investors in Danang High-tech Park. The high-tech projects by Japanese investors will help attract top-notch experts to Danang, promoting scientific research and high-tech application for the city."
The inauguration of Fujikin Danang is an optimistic signal about the recovery momentum and economic growth of the city in the last months of 2021. At the same time, it proves the confidence of foreign enterprises about the economic policies of the city's leaders, especially in the prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic over the past time.
He added that the city and Fujikin will strive to complete the construction of the project on schedule to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan in 2023.
Danang has become a top investment destination for foreign investors in the central region. A number of investors, including the United States' Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC), Japan's Tokyo Keiki Precision Technology Inc. and Niwa Foundry, and South Korea's Dentium business, already have factories inside the hi-tech park.
