Inax displays its broad social conscious

Last week, Inax Vietnam delivered Vietnam Television representing the “Tam Long Viet Fund” more than VND1.2 billion ($60,000) charity sponsorship for the programme “Operation Healthy Heart”. This is the third consecutive year Inax Vietnam has taken part in sponsoring the programme with its total funding of VND3.2 billion ($160,000).

Following this, this year Inax Vietnam will help University Medical Centre of Ho Chi Minh City enhance its capacity and conduct 10 normal heart operations until early next year for under 16 year-old underprivileged children who have congenital heart diseases.

Morita Nguyen, Inax Vietnam’s sales director and board of management member, said: “Inax Vietnam scheduled a concrete programme to show that social tasks are not only the contributions of enterprises, but also customers and agents could take part in charity, social and community development programmes as like the “Operation Healthy Heart.”

According to Ministry of Health’s annual figures, about over 16,000 children across Vietnam have congenial heart disease. A heart operation costs from VND35-60 million ($1,700-$3,000), a big amount for most families in the rural areas of Vietnam.

“Besides the “Operation Healthy Heart”, we are also pushing up other social corporate responsibility activities in Vietnam such as scholarship grants and environmental protection as a move to return to the society where we operate,” Nguyen told VIR.

Established in 1996 as a joint venture between Japan’s Inax Corporation with Hanoi Housing Investment and Development Corporation and Hanoi International Manpower Supply and Trade Company, Inax Vietnam now operates six sanitary ware production facilities, three in Hanoi and three in northern Hung Yen province. In addition, Inax Vietnam’s shower manufacturing facility in central Quang Nam province and a brick production facility in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province started operating  two years ago.

Inax Vietnam’s disbursed fund in these factories is more than $80 million. Inax Vietnam, which became a member of Japan’s Lixil Group in April this year, plans to officially open  the seventh sanitary ware plant  in May 2012.
