From November 6-8, the Hanoi 2024 Digital Technology Product Trade Exhibition will take place in the front hall of the Hanoi Museum, featuring around 60 booths. It will showcase Hanoi’s investment environment, digital technology potential, as well as present high-tech products from the digital industry ecosystem, while facilitating networking between investors and businesses in manufacturing, supply, and distribution within the digital technology sector.

Key issues regarding the growth of digital technology enterprises within Vietnam’s socioeconomic context will be addressed at the Hanoi Digitech 2024 Conference, scheduled for 9am on November 6 at the Hanoi Museum.

During the conference, experts, business leaders, policymakers, and representatives from international organisations in Vietnam’s technology sector will provide insights into various topics connected to the growth of digital enterprises in Vietnam. Key discussion topics will include opportunities and challenges faced by businesses entering global markets, their contributions to advancing digital transformation, and the development of the digital economy and digital society, as well as workforce development and efforts to support Hanoi-based enterprises on their digital transformation journey.

Additionally, at 1.30pm on November 6, the 2024 E-commerce and Digital Technology Application Forum will take place at the Hanoi Museum, organised by the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency, with the participation of e-commerce and digital technology enterprises.

Furthermore, the Digital Transformation Forum for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Hanoi, scheduled for 2 pm on November 7, will offer a platform for SMEs to explore opportunities for accelerating digital transformation within their organisations.

At the forum, leaders and experts in digital technology, as well as investors in the digital technology sector, will discuss strategies to foster digital transformation in SMEs, with a focus on addressing challenges and barriers, and sharing information about support initiatives and policies for SMEs in Hanoi.

To date, Hanoi remains a preferred destination for international investors. Over the past 10 months, the city has attracted more than $1.5 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), including 233 newly-licensed projects with a combined capital of over $1.1 billion.

The city is actively implementing key strategic measures to promote dual growth and sustainable development, focusing on advancing the digital economy, green economy, and innovative business models. Furthermore, Hanoi is developing policies to enhance high-quality human resources, strengthen research and development (R&D), and boost the application of science and technology.

“This event is one of the activities aimed at connecting digital technology and promoting investment to support the business community in Hanoi and the provinces and cities of the Red River Delta in their digital transformation journey and sustainable development,” Luc stressed.

Luc also noted that digital transformation not only creates opportunities to establish networks, bridge gaps within organisations, improve governance efficiency, and optimise workforce productivity but also enhances product quality and competitiveness.

He further stated that to maintain and enhance competitiveness in an increasingly complex business environment, enterprises must embrace and leverage digital technologies to optimise operations, increase efficiency, and create value for customers.

In recent years, many businesses in Hanoi have recognised that digital transformation is not merely a trend but a critical factor for survival and growth in the digital era.

“To assist businesses in overcoming challenges in production and operations, the city has developed strategies and concrete plans to improve efficiency, boost competitiveness, and generate new value, thereby fostering the capital’s socio-economic development and contributing sustainably to the national digital economy,” he added.

With the goal of fostering connections, promoting investment, and supporting businesses in adopting digital transformation aligned with sustainable development, the Hanoi Promotion Agency, under the guidance of the municipal People’s Committee, has collaborated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy and the city’s Department of Information and Communications to organise this seminar. The event aims to provide a dialogue platform, orientation, and practical support for businesses during their digital transformation and advanced technology adoption.

“With the participation of esteemed delegates from government agencies, organisations, associations, and experienced businesses involved in digital transformation and high-tech activities, I hope this will be an opportunity for all to share, exchange, and discuss solutions to drive digital transformation for small- and medium-sized enterprises in Hanoi and other provinces and cities,” Luc expressed.

Earlier on June 15, the Hanoi People’s Committee issued Plan No. 184/KH-UBND on “Developing Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in Hanoi until 2025.” The plan sets ambitious targets, including the establishment of 10,000 digital technology enterprises and the development of 10 key digital technology product groups.
