On May 11, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Luong Ngoc Khue, people’s physician, director of the Department of Medical Service Administration at the Ministry of Health (MoH) and vice chairman of the Vietnam Medical Council, presented a decision by the Ministry of Health to allow Hanoi French Hospital (HFH) to expand its services and up its capacity to 170 in-patient beds.

This marks an important milestone for HFH’s further growth as it celebrates its 25th anniversary of providing first class healthcare to the Vietnamese and expatriate community in Hanoi and across northern Vietnam.

The ceremony took place at the HFH on May 11, and drew the participation of Nicolas Warnery, the French Ambassador to Vietnam, Luong Ngoc Khue, Director of the Department of Medical Service Administration and vice chairman of the Vietnam Medical Council, Do Nhat Hoang, Director of the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Tran Thi Nhi Ha, Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, and leaders of Hanoi's local authorities. Many representatives from embassies, corporate clients, and HFH partners were also in attendance.

“This year marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations. I highly appreciate the contributions of Hanoi French Hospital in strengthening the bilateral cooperation in healthcare, including recruiting talented French speaking Vietnamese doctors and graduate students and collaborating with training units and big hospitals in Hanoi on information exchanges and professional support,” said ambassador Warnery.

With this full range of service facilities in place, HFH is a premium European hospital in the centre of Hanoi, serving discerning local and international communities across northern Vietnam.

Representing the MoH at the ceremony, Luong Ngoc Khue noted that the ministry is thankful for HFH's efforts in applying innovative technology and recruiting talented medical professionals in Vietnam and from other countries to provide international-standard medical care.

HFH launched the expansion project with the ambition of meeting the increasing demand for truly international-standard healthcare from a fast-growing middle-class population and a growing number of expatriates and foreign visitors in Hanoi and northern Vietnam.

In 2019, the seven-floor inpatient building was put into service, buoyed by state-of-the art facilities and cutting-edge medical equipment in a unique European ambiance.

Due to pandemic-related delays, the refurbishment of the outpatient and A&E building was completed with a dedicated health check centre last year.

In December 2022, the hospital was accredited with the Green Energy 5-Star certificate by the Department of Industry and Trade as a recognition of its efforts to go green in every aspect of its operations.

With this full range of service facilities in place, HFH is a premium European hospital in the centre of Hanoi, serving discerning local and international communities across northern Vietnam.

“We are proud of our 25-plus-year track record as being a trusted healthcare provider for many families and corporates. The new licence is a key step in allowing HFH to move forward and serve more people who want the highest standard international healthcare at their convenience,” said Jef Peeters, CEO of HFH.

“We will continue to bring in talented internationally trained doctors, both local and foreign, who will continue to work side by side, sharing the commitment and values of providing first-class healthcare to the wider local and expatriate community in Vietnam.”

Commitment to first-class healthcare

HFH is well poised for a new phase of growth with the commitment to the consistent delivery of first-class healthcare.

Accordingly, safe and quality medical care is deemed the core of this, realised through the continuous improvement of medical projects under HFH’s Medical Strategy Plan. This is led by Dr. Erwan Debuc, chief medical officer, who has a solid professional and leadership background and exposure to international healthcare best practice.

The main thrusts of the HFH Medical Strategy Plan are an absolute focus on bringing international-standard quality and safety of care with a patient-centred experience, and providing an integrated mother and child care path including comprehensive medical treatment and care dedicated to aspiring and young families. It covers from fertility assistance through to pregnancy monitoring, with issue management, newborn care, and paediatrics to ensure the child's wellbeing and the parents’ peace of mind.

Other key points include deepening internal medicine specialities with the setting up of additional expertise centres for prevention, diagnosis, and therapy. There will be a particular focus on vascular diseases, including strokes and myocardial infracts, sleep disorders, including sleep apnoea, neurological conditions of the ageing, including Parkinson’s disease and tremors, and cardiology, including syncope centre and cardiac rhythm disorders.

Surgical activities will be strengthened in a unique operating room environment, with a team of experienced anaesthesiologists to ensure the best safety and comfort for patients.

The hospital consolidates surgical activities around specialisation for trauma patient management with an orthopaedic traumatology centre, back pain management with a spinal pathology centre, adult and paediatric ENT, comprehensive medico-surgical care of hepatic diseases, stomach and colorectal disease screening, and a therapeutic centre.

Central to the hospital is the dedication and competency of its A&E Department that caters 24/7 for all medical needs, with emergency physicians trained in France.

To mark the launch event, HFH is offering an inspiring promotion campaign under the theme First-class Healthcare for Hanoi. Details of the programme is in here.
