The “Germany-Vietnam relationship” project is the final activity to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The black and white graffiti painting reflects the words Vietnam and Germany, a complicated and intricate form of graffiti.

One side of the graffiti painting features popular images of a Vietnamese woman wearing ao dai (traditional long dress) and non la (traditional conical hat), Notre Dame Cathedral and motorbikes. The other side shows a German man standing by a car, a typical product of Germany, and drinking German beer.

Speaking at a meeting with local media, artist Pham Minh Tuan said graffiti and other street art genres as a whole are popular in other countries and are gaining popularity in Vietnam.German Vice Consul General Olaf Malchow said graffiti is now popular in Germany, especially in Berlin, as it is a new trend of contemporary art.
