Yesterday (March 18), the number of new COVID-19 cases positive for the epidemic was 10, becoming one of the two days (next to March 8, with also 10 new cases) reporting the most new patients in Vietnam. These 10 patients have been quarantined and are undergoing treatment in Hanoi, Hai Duong, Ninh Binh, and Ho Chi Minh City.

The 69th patient is a 30-year-old man of German nationality, who stayed in Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi. He arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on flight SU290. During March 13-15, he visited several locations in Hanoi. He got sick on March 15 and was taken to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh district, and his test reported positive for COVID-19.

The 70th and 71th patients are a 19-year-old man and woman living in Hanoi who returned from the UK. They arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on flight TK164 and their test showed positive for COVID-19.

The 72th is a 25-year-old French woman who came arrived France to Hanoi on March 9 with her boyfriend, the 60th patient. She went sightseeing in Hanoi and Ninh Binh province. She was taken to the isolation area and her test was positive. These four patients are undergoing treatment in the National Hospital of Tropical Disease in Dong Anh district, and their health is getting better.

The 73th patient is an 11-year-old boy living in Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province. He was on flight VN54 departing from London to Hanoi on March 9. He has been quarantined since March 13 in the Thanh Mien district centre of health after his test showed a coronavirus infection.

The 74th patient is a 23-year-old man living in Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province. He came from France to Vietnam on flight VN18 on March 16. He has been quarantined in Bac Ninh after immigration, and his test was positive for the virus.

The 75th is a 40-year-old woman living in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. She went to London on March 4 and claims she has not met with another confirmed COVID-19 patient. On March 15, she returned to Vietnam on flight VN50 and was quarantined at Cu Chi field hospital. She tested positive without any symptoms and her health is fine.

The latest case is a 52-year-old Frenchman who arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 10 on flight TK162. He visited Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho city, Hoi An (Quang Nam province), and Hue (Thua Thien-Hue province) between then and March 16. He then travelled to Ninh Binh province, and was collected a sample for testing. His sample was sent to the National Institute for Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) and the result was positive. He is being treated at the National Hospital of Tropical Disease No. 2 and is in stable health condition.

In early March 17, the Ministry of Health confirmed two cases positive for COVID-19, including an American man in Danang city and a Vietnamese man in Ninh Thuan province returning from Malaysia.
