Canadian and Vietnamese hydrogen associations deepen collaboration

This venture marks a significant step towards fostering international cooperation in the international hydrogen space. The MoU defines various areas for collaboration. This partnership will foster a mutually beneficial environment for knowledge exchange and capacity building.

This partnership will support the sharing of industry reports, educational materials, and best practices, while facilitating the exchange of information on government policies, regulatory frameworks, and incentives relevant to the hydrogen sector. It will also include the co-organisation of seminars, webinars, and networking events in both Vietnam and Canada, creating opportunities to connect government, industry, and research communities focused on the development of hydrogen.

Both organisations recognise the important role that hydrogen can play in a low carbon future and will endeavour to work together to pursue the possibility of clean hydrogen procurement and the potential for hydrogen-based energy use.

“We look forward to partnering with our colleagues at VAHC to advance the hydrogen economies in our respective countries,” said Nicolas Hilario, interim president and CEO of the CHA. “This is an immense opportunity to increase trade within ASEAN as we share many similarities in our energy and transportation sectors, and the sharing of best practices will be to our mutual interest.”

“The CHA is the first hydrogen association that we have formed a partnership with on the American continent,” says Le Ngoc Anh Minh, chairman of the VAHC. “We will enhance collaboration with the CHA to promote hydrogen technologies, project development, and joint seminars to build strong hydrogen communities in Vietnam, ASEAN, and Canada on our Asia-Pacific net-zero journey.”

Potential is there for hydrogen alternative Although Vietnam’s green hydrogen market remains at its early stages, there have been some developments to unlock it.
