Binh Thuan to kick off National Tourism Year 2023

Binh Thuan will organise a series of 204 events and activities, including 13 national-scale activities, and 31 unique and attractive cultural, sports and tourism events at inter-provincial, national, and international scale to take place throughout 2023.

The National Tourism Year 2023 in Binh Thuan will have the theme “Binh Thuan - Green convergence”

There are also 164 cultural, sports and tourism events and activities in response to the 2023 National Tourism Year organised by 41 provinces and centrally-run cities.

The opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2023 “Binh Thuan – Green convergence” will be held on the evening of December 31, 2022,in Phan Thiet city.

The programme's opening ceremony will take place in March 2023 at Nova World Phan Thiet in Phan Thiet city, and be broadcast live on Vietnam Television and Binh Thuan Radio and Television Station.

The final award ceremony of the contest “Viet Nam’s aspiration: Turning Phan Thiet into the world’s leading destination for MICE and Wellness tourism by 2045” is scheduled to be held in September 2023 at Centara Mirage Muine Resort, Phan Thiet.

The closing ceremony and countdown festival welcoming New Year 2024 are slated for December 30, 2023, at Centara Mirage Muine Resort.

Nguyen Minh, vice chairman of Binh Thuan Province People’s Committee said: “With great preparation, the 2023 National Tourism Year will make a good impression and attract domestic and foreign tourists for Binh Thuan province and Vietnam in general, creating a strong push for the tourism industry to take off in the new period.”

Binh Thuan has a tropical monsoon climate, warm sunshine, fresh air, and cool, mild temperature, creating a favourable environment for organising tourism activities all year round.

The province is home to a 192km-long coast with various beautiful beaches, famous tourist attractions, historical-cultural relics and traditional festivals.

Binh Thuan has nearly 900 accommodation establishments with over 17,000 rooms, including 45 hotels and resorts from 3 to 5 stars with nearly 5,000 rooms; and 13 travel agencies, including eight international travel agencies.

In 2022, Binh Thuan is estimated to welcome over 5 million visitors, with tourism revenue estimated at $556 million. In the national tourism year 2023, Binh Thuan is expected to receive more than 6.5 million visitors, surpassing the 6.4 million tourists that arrived before the pandemic.
