The temple was built in 1831-1832 and repaired only once in 1922. The work consists of two temples, called Ram Trong Temple and Ram Ngoai Temple.
The temple worships national heroes and deities.
According to the researchers, the architecture of the Ram Temple is an exemplary style of Vietnamese folk architecture.
The structure of the temples is strictly based on scientific knowledge, which helps the temple exist with time and harsh climate in the central region.
The architectural details are linked together on the basis of traditional carpentry techniques of the three-dimensional space. Therefore, the temple has a massive appearance but it still looks elegant.
The temple is elaborately carved with many paintings that feature topics such as the carp transformed into a dragon, two dragons, etc, created by the most talented artisans.
In 2008, the temple was recognized as a national historical, artistic and architectural work.
Through the ups and downs of time and horrible effect of harsh climate, the temple is partly ruined but the carving art at the temple of nearly 300 years old can still touch the heart of visitors.
