The VIR roundtable discussed many investment channels and their future in Vietnam |
Can Van Luc, chief economist from the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), highlighted five sectors for investors at the roundtable conference on investment during the economic rebound. The roundtable conference was organised at Vietnam Investment Review’s headquarters on November 12.
According to Luc, in the pandemic and post-pandemic context, numerous new investment trends will take effect across the globe and in Vietnam that investors could capitalise on.
The first sector flagged by Lux was investment in digital platforms. Numerous enterprises and investors are developing services basing on digital platforms, including digital banking, fintech, e-commerce, online training, mobile money, digital entertainment, as well as telehealth services. These sectors create investment opportunities for a lot of other sectors, namely logistics, fast shipping, livestreaming, and network security.
The second sector is public investment, including projects relating to infrastructure, renewable energy, ITC infrastructure, as well as healthcare and education. There is space aplenty in these fields where investors can take on many different mantles and turn a profit.
Another potential investment channel is the health sector with numerous segments such as medical equipment, services, and pharmaceuticals. These services will be an essential demand in the coming years because of the increase in diseases.
It is also necessary to mention two other sector: real estate and securities investment. Although securities investment hides numerous risks as opposed to investment in gold, government bonds, and simply keeping money in the bank, these channels offer much higher profits.
In the framework of the roundtable, participants flagged new emerging investment channels like forex and cryptocurrency. Forex is a decentralised marketplace for trading various currencies where purchase and sell actions can be affected in real-time.
However, experts also alerted investors to carefully research their choices before jumping in because there are many fraudulent forex exchanges out there.
