Vietnam wins six golds in regional karate tournament

The Vietnam team has won six gold medals and has taken overall third place at the 2nd Southeast Asian Karatedo Championships, which were held in Pampanga from April 18-21.

The Vietnam team of 32 karate martial artists brought home a total of six gold, seven silver, and 12 bronze medals. Malaysia topped the medal tally with 11 gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals followed by Indonesia with nine gold, five silver and ten bronze medals.

The annual competition brought together roughly 200 karate martial artists from nine countries across the region including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar and hosts Philippines.
