In June alone, the country welcomed around 1.46 million foreign visitors, down 4.3 per cent compared to May, but still 17.1 per cent higher than the same period last year.
The largest source markets included China, South Korea, Taiwan, the US, India, Japan, Russia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
Several markets saw notable growth compared to May, such as Norway, up 180 per cent; Sweden, up 49 per cent; the US and Singapore, both up 42 per cent; Malaysia, up 21 per cent; Russia, up 14 per cent; and Laos, up 13 per cent.
Meanwhile, arrivals from some other markets declined from May, including the Czech Republic and France both down 40 per cent, Poland down 37 per cent, Canada down 33 per cent, Belgium down 31 per cent, the Netherlands down 24 per cent, Denmark down 23 per cent, Germany down 22 per cent, China down 10 per cent, and South Korea down 5 per cent.
Domestic tourism remained strong, with an estimated 16 million travellers in June, including 10.7 million overnight visitors. In total, Vietnam welcomed around 77.5 million domestic tourists in the first half of the year.
Tourism revenue for the period was estimated at $20.4 billion, reinforcing its role as a key economic driver.
Major destinations also saw robust growth in tourism revenue compared to H1/2024, including Danang, up 18.5 per cent; Ho Chi Minh City, up 16.9 per cent; Hanoi, up 13 per cent; and Haiphong, up 12.5 per cent.
In June, the VNAT also conducted tourism promotions in key markets such as Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland, introducing new flight routes and tourism offerings to international travellers.
