On March 6, Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM Hanoi) has opened its gates to welcome visitors for a four-day tourism promotion bonanza. The exhibition is hosted at Hanoi International Centre for Exhibition.

Since being first organized in 2013, the annual event quickly grew to become Vietnam’s premier professional tourism event and one of the largest travel shows in the region. Living up to its essential mission, VITM Hanoi aims to foster outbound, inbound, and domestic tourism.

This year, for an added taste for the local, the event places Vietnam’s capital in the fore, under the theme ‘Hanoi—The destination of Vietnam in 2017.’

“Being chosen as a capital of Vietnam for almost a millennium, Hanoi, Vietnam’s political, economic and cultural centre, ranks among the world’s most attractive and interesting cities. The city’s placid air gives it a gracious, almost regal flavour, underscored by a rich history that traces back more than a thousand years - a fascinating heritage on display in well-preserved centuries-old architecture,” reads the introduction on VITM Hanoi’s website.

Organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Tourism Association, the event features 800 exhibitors hailing from Vietnam and over the world, offering promotions and introductions at 450 booths on the exhibition area.

Exhibitors include tourism organisations, tour operators and travel agents, hotels and resorts, as well as airlines. Key activities will cater for all manners of visitors: tourism professionals looking to widen their business networks, catch on the latest tourism trends, or discuss with peers the most burning issues in tourism through ten workshops and seminars.

In addition to professional opportunities, VITM Hanoi offers visitors an exquisite cultural experience, featuring traditional and contemporary performances highlighting participating countries’ cultural and artistic repertoire.

VITM Hanoi is open to visitors from April 6 to 9, 2017, from 8:00-18:00.
