The information was released at a seminar introducing the airlines’ services and products held in Quang Ninh province on July 26.
The airline will discount 50 to 70 per cent off normal airfares during the promotion for international services departing from mid-September to December 31, 2012.
The greatest discounts will be available on flights to Bangkok with airfares as low as $60, followed by flights to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, which will cost only $79 and $99, respectively.
Vietnam Airlines will also lower prices by 20 to 30 per cent for international flights from Vietnam to Taiwan, China, Japan and several other Southeast Asian countries.
At the seminar, Quang Ninh province signed agreements with the airline to increase the international promotion of Halong Bay, a World Heritage site recognised twice by UNESCO for its natural beauty and geological value.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines has 46 international and 37 domestic routes. Many new services have been recently introduced, including direct flights to Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Vientiane and Luang Prabang.
