The government has approved the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to submit a dossier on Ninh Binh Province’s Trang An tourism complex to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to seek for its recognition as a world heritage site.

Under the plan, the culture ministry will work with the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO on necessary procedures for the dossier.

In May, Trang An was recognized as a national heritage.

The 10,000 ha site includes three areas: Trang An Ecological Site, Tam Coc-Bich Dong Site and former Hoa Lu Capital Area. It has around 500 species of flora, 73 species of birds and 41 species of other animals.
