What are TE Connectivity's key solutions and products offered in Vietnam market?

Global TE Connectivity was incorporated by AMP NETCONNECT, a business subsidiary of TE Connectivity, has presented in Vietnam under the representative office of Tyco Electronics Singapore since 1996 and one of our biggest competitors ADC Krone after a milestone acquisition in early of 2011.

TE Connectivity conducts its business through three operating segments:

Transportation Solutions, Communications and Industrial Solutions and Network Solutions. In Vietnamese market, TE Connectivity focuses on Network Solutions - one of the world's largest suppliers of infrastructure components and systems for the telecommunications and energy markets - with two main business units - Telecommunication Network and Enterprise Network.

While Telecommunication Network unit provides two solutions which are infrastructure solutions of information technology network for businesses and solutions for telecommunication radio and station, Enterprise Network offers solutions and products of AMP NETCONNECT and ADC Krone including bronze cable 1GB & 10GB, fiber 1 – 10GB, solutions and products for Data Center such as MPO, MRJ 21, copperTen, XG.

Network products and solutions are considered as a hi-tech sector, how does TE invest in innovation to provide customers the best and most updated products and services?  

Based on the spirit of innovation with the goal of delivering the best solutions – with the highest quality – to customers, TE Connectivity invests approximately 5 per cent of the company’s sales revenue on research, development and engineering annually. For example, in 2010, the investment was $585 million.

These efforts are supported by approximately 8,000 engineers at 13 global design centers who work closely with its customers to develop applications specific, highly engineered products and systems to satisfy customers’ needs.

What is the current market share held by TE Connectivity in Vietnam? What do you think about the demand potential of Vietnamese market in the next five years?

In Vietnam since 1996, TE Connectivity is holding about 80 per cent of the market shares in Vietnam’s telecommunication sector. In the development strategies of TE Connectivity in South East Asia, Vietnam is one of the most important and potential market with the strong growth of the economy and communication sector in particular.

Along with the rapid development of science and technology in Vietnam, Vietnamese customers' demand on network products and solutions is increasing continuously. We plan to keep increasing our market shares in next five years through providing more diversified and innovative portfolio of engineered electronic components, networks solutions, undersea telecommunication systems, and specialty products for Vietnamese customers.

What is the business direction and strategy for TE Connectivity in Vietnam?

In Vietnam, TE Connectivity keeps focusing on developing two key business units: Telecommunication Network and Enterprise Network with a full range of outstanding products and services. We are promoting on establishing an enterprise in Vietnam with 100 per cent foreign investment in March 2012, which will be instead of the current two representative offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The official establishment of this company will affirm TE Connectivity's commitment of long-term business strategies in Vietnam to wait in front for opportunities in domestic market in 2012. Specifically, TE Connectivity Vietnam will implement a warehouse project through our cooperation with partners from the global supply chain such as DHL and Schenker to meet all demands on supply and storage of goods to customers.

The establishment of the company will also support our export and import sector which have been restricted by the function of our representative offices in more than 10 years in Vietnam.

Besides business activity in Vietnam, TE Connectivity is also eager in supporting the local community such as in floor relief donation, charity and sponsorship works.
