Sustaining Vietnamese youngsters' scholastic ambitions

The selected auction item offers a refreshing experience to the winner

With a starting price of $872, the organisers sought active support from donors to the Swing for the Kids 2022 Scholarship Fund, thus promoting the mission of cultivating underserved young talents across Vietnam.

Prior to this, the 2019 Swing for the Kids tournament organised an online auction with three special items including a Newcastle United club jersey for the 2008-2009 season autographed by the team members and coaching staff; a Heineken ball signed by player Clarence Seedorf, and another one signed by players Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

This year's selected item was an $1830 three-day voucher for two at the luxury resort Six Senses Ninh Van Bay. Along with the on-site auction, the organisers held a virtual auction through three digital channels including baodautu.vn, vir.com.vn, and tinnhanhchungkhoan.vn.

After 15 tournaments, VIR's Swing For the Kids fund, co-organised by BRG Group and SeAbank, has facilitated the heart-warming and inspirational spirit of this sport by promoting education among disadvantaged Vietnamese high-school and college students.

It has granted 18,000 scholarships with a total value of over $807,000 to the targeted students and assisted in repairing and upgrading educational facilities in 50 cities and provinces nationwide.

The tournament aims towards enhancing the contribution of women activists to the surrounding community

This year’s tournament saw the participation of 240 golfers representing multiple domestic and international firms. Among the guests were BRG Group and SeABank; Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. (diamond sponsor); Vingroup (platinum sponsor), and many other partner sponsors.

Additionally, the tournament welcomed multiple first-time joiners with an interest in fulfilling the education dream of underprivileged children, including Vietnam Textile and Garment Group, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, Inochi of Tan Phu JSC, Tasco JSC, and Hoa Binh Co., Ltd.
