Sympathising with the loss and pain of the people of the central provinces after the recent heavy storms a and floods, PetroVietnam was one of the first companies to raise funds to aid overcoming the bad consequences.

The seventh storm hit Vietnam on October 17 with severe consequences. To help the locals to overcome difficulties, from October 18, a campaign was launched by PetroVietnam's general director Le Manh Hung to collect donations from the staff and workers.
So far, a series of meaningful and creative activities have been deployed in response to the turmoil of Central Vietnam.
All staff and workers had reserved a day’s salary to donate to the vulnerable people and support teams have been quickly dispatched to the impacted provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, and Quang Nam to deliver financial support (cash and savings books), necessities like food, drink, life jackets, flashlights, medicine, clothes, notebooks, and stationery.
PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) provided petrol for flood relief vehicles while Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical JSC (BSR) has arranged a shelter area for more than 400 people in Quang Ngai province, while PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemical Corporation (PVFCCo) coordinated with local agricultural companies to help locals resume cultivation after the natural disasters (by donating materials, offering training on cultivation techniques, and fighting with pests and diseases).
In addition, PetroVietnam and its member units promptly visited, gave gifts, encouraged, and supported 82 workers and 311 families of the sector in the central region who suffered damage from natural disasters with a total amount of nearly VND1 billion ($43,480).

After only half a month of implementation, PetroVietnam and its member units have been transferring VND28 billion ($1.2 million) to people in the central provinces.
Also in mid-October, responding to the prime minister’s appeal, PetroVietnam donated VND300 billion ($13 million) to the “For the Poor” fund.
Therefore since mid-October, PetroVietnam and its member companies have donated more than VND328 billion to help local people in the central provinces and the poor nationwide to overcome the natural disaster.
