North Korean and US leaders brought to life in eggshell figurines
As Hanoi is dressed in flags and flowers in hopes of increased regional and global peace with the DPRK-US summit, the craftsman from Ho Chi Minh City has also decided to join the festivities by creating these eggshell figurines.
Artisan Tam said that his figurines mean to honour the historical summit between the DPRK and the US taking place in Vietnam right now. Therefore, he researched and studied the two leaders’ looks and mannerisms, trying to recreate them on the unusual medium of eggshells.
Nguyen Thanh Tam currently teaches English for children. He uses his eggshell creations to make his English lessons more graphic. He was granted a certificate for creating the most eggshell figurines in Vietnam by the Vietnam Book of Record.
